JAKARTA - Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said President Prabowo Subianto's decision to add one Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) in the structure of members of the Red and White Cabinet aims to ensure that development in each region runs smoothly.
"Today the President made the decision to appoint Mr. Wiyagus as Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, which means that there is an addition of one deputy minister at the Ministry of Home Affairs," said Prasetyo Hadi as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 8.
President Prabowo Subianto officially inaugurated Akhmad Wiyagus as Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) in the Red and White Cabinet.
With the inauguration of Akhmad Wiyagus, now the Ministry of Home Affairs has three deputy ministers, with two Deputy Ministers of Home Affairs who have been appointed previously, namely Bima Arya Sugiarto and Ribka Haluk led by Tito Karnavian as Minister of Home Affairs.
Prasetyo explained that with the area of Indonesia consisting of 514 districts and 38 provinces, the President wants to ensure that development and development in each region can run well and smoothly.
"So the President feels the need to provide additional strength at the Ministry of Home Affairs by appointing one Deputy Minister of Home Affairs," said Pras, his nickname.
For information, Komjen Ol (Ret.) Akhmad Wiyagus is a retired high-ranking police officer who was born in Tasikmalaya, West Java, on September 23, 1967.
He graduated from the 1989 Police Academy (Akpol) and earned a Doctorate of Law from Trisakti University.
Known for the background of the detective, Wiyagus has pursued a career in the police force, ranging from the Gorontalo Police Chief, Lampung Police Chief, the Chief Assistant to the National Police, to the Head of the Intelligence and Security Agency (Kabaintelkam).
His reputation has strengthened after receiving the 2022 Hoegeng Awards in the Police category with integrity and blessings for his firmness in eradicating corruption in Gorontalo.
In addition to his career in the Police, he has also served as Director of Security and Law Enforcement of BP Batam.
