PLN EPI And Timas Sulindo Teken LoI Pemping Gas Pipe Development
PT PLN Energi Primary Indonesia (PLN EPI) signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with PT Timas Suplindo for the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) project for the construction of the West Natuna Transportation System (WNTS) gas pipeline to Pemping Island, Batam.
PLN EPI's Director of Gas and Fuel, Erma Melina Sarahwati, said that this signing marks the important step of PLN EPI in strengthening the reliability of natural gas supply for the national electricity system, especially in the Batam area and its surroundings.
The WNTS gas pipeline construction will be an important bridge in supporting the natural gas-based clean energy transition, as well as strengthening national energy security. This will also be the only gas pipeline that will connect gas sources in Natuna to the domestic market," Erma said, Wednesday, October 8.
Erma added, this project has a high level of complexity because it includes engineering, procurement, construction, and installation work in both offshore and offshore areas, taking into account geographical conditions and integration of existing oil and gas infrastructure.
