DKI Provincial Government Has First Electric Ambulance, Pramono: Initial Model Of Green Energy Transition

JAKARTA The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government officially has the first electric ambulance to support medical emergency services. The unit is assistance from the Life After Mine Foundation (LINE) which was handed over directly to the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung.

Pramono said the presence of an electric ambulance was the first step for Jakarta to expand health services as well as strengthen its commitment to the green energy transition. He assessed that collaboration between the government and the private sector must continue to be strengthened to accelerate innovation of public services.

"So, this is the first electric ambulance to be operated by the DKI Jakarta Government. So, specifically, Mr. Mochammad Bihar, we are very grateful. This is a form of cooperation between the private sector and the government in synergy to provide assistance to people in need," said Pramono at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, August 8.

This electric ambulance increased the number of fleets operated by the DKI Health Office through the UPT of the Regional Health Crisis and Emergency Center (PK3D) to 97 units.

Previously, Jakarta had 96 advance ambulance units used for pre-hospital services, inter-hospital evacuations, and handling at large national and international events.

Pramono emphasized that this vehicle should be properly guarded because it will be an initial example for the transformation of a public service fleet towards low-emission vehicles.

"I advise that this be treated properly. This is the initial model, because if later it is significantly operational properly, of course we will start using an electric ambulance," he said.

This step, he said, is in line with Jakarta's vision as a climate-resilient city oriented to clean energy and healthy air.

Meanwhile, the head of the LINE Foundation, Mochammad Bihar, explained that the electric ambulance has a range of up to 300 kilometers in one charge. The fast charging feature allows the battery to charge 20 80 percent in just about 80 minutes.

"The delivery of this electric ambulance is not only a symbol of cooperation, but also our commitment to expand the positive social impact, that the clean energy transition can also be present in the health care sector," said Bihar.

He considered that this environmentally friendly medical transportation innovation was not merely a technological contribution, but a step towards stronger cross-sectoral collaboration.

I believe the progress of society is not only built through innovation, but also through collaboration. We believe that the private sector, social development, and the government have a complementary role and build a strong and sustainable public service system," he added.
