"Praise God the match was finished well. Earlier in the first game the start was very good, we were ahead with a lot of points, but from there we were in a hurry to play," Rachel said.
In the second game, Rachel/Febi were forced to rise from 2-5 behind to seal the win. They scored four points and turned ahead after that.
The opponent then bounced back and led 8-6, but Rachel/Febi managed to find another rhythm to excel in the interval. After that, their position could no longer be pursued.
"The opponent has a tall posture, the top ball is sharp and the range is long. We found a gap by playing fast. For field conditions there are no obstacles because everything feels normal," said Rahcel.
Rin/Kie, who will be Rachel/Febi's next opponent, qualified for the second half after winning against the Taipei Chinese pair, Hu Ling Fang/Jheng Yu Chieh.
"Tomorrow we meet Rin Iwanaga/Kie Nakanishi, we will play without a burden, have more confidence, and the focus must be improved. The spirit of not wanting to lose must be displayed," said Febi.
Rachel/Febi are the second women's doubles to qualify for the second round, following the footsteps of Febriana Dwi Pusuma/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari. The pair won the walkover (WO) in the first round.
Febriana / Meilysa will also receive a tough test because they meet the second seed from Malaysia, namely the Pearly Tan / Thinaah Muralitharan pair.
