A Number Of Real Madrid Players Are Still Called By The National Team Despite Injuries, Including Mbappe
JAKARTA - Kylian Mbappe will join the French National Team (Timnas) for the international break despite an ankle injury during Real Madrid against Villarreal on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
Mbappe will now be questioned by Les Bleus' medical staff after suffering a minor injury in their 3-1 win in the eighth week of La Liga at the Santiago Bernabeu.
They will decide whether the French national team captain will stay with the squad or return to Real Madrid to continue his recovery in Valdebebas.
Mbappe scored Los Blancos' third goal in the 81st minute in a win against Villarreal. He was replaced two minutes later after suffering an ankle injury.

"Currently he feels a little uncomfortable. They have to evaluate it with the national team. We hope the injury is not serious, but at this time we can't comment yet," said coach Xabi Alonso on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
Mbappe's goal against Villarreal saw him score in nine consecutive games for his club and country, first in his career.
Shifting to another player, Franco Mastantuono also suffered a minor hamstring injury against Villarreal, but the winger will also join the Argentine national team for an evaluation.
Mastantuno - who started his career at Real Madrid impressively - joined the Argentina squad for a friendly against Venezuela and Puerto Rico in the United States.
Things are different with Valverde. He will remain at Real Madrid during the international break instead of joining the Uruguay national team thanks to an agreement with coach Marcelo Bielsa.
The midfielder had had a difficult week, forced to release a statement denying ever refusing to play in a different position for Real Madrid, before finally being selected as right-back against Villarreal.
Meanwhile, France will face Azerbaijan on Friday, October 10, 2025, and then Iceland on October 13, 2025, local time, in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers in the European Zone.
