Once A Trainee SM, Ejae Tak Sangka Popular Because Of Kpop Demon Hunters

JAKARTA - Singer Ejae never expected to be at the point of popularity. His name became known after filling the voice of Rumi's character in the successful Kpop Demon Hunters film on Netflix.

"This is crazy, I never thought of all this, as well as everyone who worked on this film," said Ejae, launching the Hindustan Times.

"The amount of love we receive is not real, but everything happens according to the way it is," he said.

Prior to his success with KPop Demon Hunters, Ejae had been a trainee at SM Entertainment for 10 years. During that decade, the singer's debut position was never obtained by the 31-year-old singer.

"Obsession with perfection is toxic and I faced it when I was a trainee. It was constantly rejected to generate self-confidence and impostor syndrome. It took years to find peace and empathy for myself," said Ejae.

Ejae became known after singing Golden for the character Rumi, who was told to join the fictional group HUNTR/X.

People are starting to recognize me as a singer. Many have asked when I released albums and other singles. I am now exploring my side," he said.

Ejae is also active in writing songs for various groups and K-pop singers, namely EXID, Bae Suzy, Red Velvet, Taeyeon, TWICE, NMIXX, KARD, aespa, and others.

This year he worked on songs for LE SSERAFIM, TDYA, and NMIXX as well as preparing his first solo song.
