After Bomb Threats, Police Create Schemes In Several International Schools

The aftermath of the bomb terror at the Elite North Jakarta Intercultural School (NJIS) Kelapa Gading School, North Jakarta Metro Police carried out security with an open and closed system in 6 other international schools in the North Jakarta area.

This security is carried out to anticipate and prevent unwanted things from happening.

"We have 6 international schools and of course we will carry out open and closed security. The open (officers with) official clothes, (security) are closed (officers with) clothes, not offices (free)," said North Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Erick Frendriz accompanied by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit Kompol Onkoseno at Mako Polrestro Jakut, Wednesday, October 8, 2025.

Meanwhile, the sweeping of several other international schools has not been carried out. North Jakarta Police have its own pattern in terms of security.

"We are doing the same, if the sweeping has not yet. The placement of personnel from open and closed security at these locations. With the aim that parents of students, students, teachers and students do not panic and we hope to go to school as usual," he said.

Kombes Erick ensured that the threat only occurred once in his area.

"We hope that if there are similar (such as) threats, immediately contact the nearest police station. Or there is Babin Kamtibmas or call 110 later, we will get a response from us," he said.

The police chief said that his party continues to anticipate and urge the public not to panic.

"Threats exist but there was no explosion. This morning the sterilization was carried out. The result was nil, no bombs were found. (school activities) Until now it is still running as usual, so far there has been no (no panic)," he said.

The North Jakarta Metro Police formed a joint team with the South Tangerang (Tangsel) and Polda Metro Jaya to hunt down the perpetrators of the bomb threat on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.

The bomb threat was blown by an unknown person sent by someone to NJIS via WhatsApp message.

In the message sent, the perpetrator also asked for a ransom of US$30 thousand via crypto. The sender of the terror message uses the Nigerian state cellphone code.
