A Month Leading The Ministry Of Finance, Purbaya: It Feels New, But Like A Year

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadive revealed that during his leadership in the first month he felt very congested and full of dynamics.

He even likened one month in office to a year because of his intense routine.

"When I served as Minister of Finance for a month, I felt like it was a year. The important thing is that I feel like it's been a long time. So I keep meeting you (journalists) every day," he said at the Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, Wednesday, October 8.

For information, Purbaya was inaugurated as Minister of Finance on September 8, 2024, replacing Sri Mulyani Indrawati.

From the first day, he was immediately faced with various problems, ranging from adjustments to fiscal policies, internal reforms at the Ministry of Finance, to global pressure on the national economy.

Meski demikian, Purbaya menegaskan bahwa dirinya tetap optimistis dan yakin berbagai tantangan tersebut dapat diatasi dengan baik.

“Menarik (sebulan bekerja), penuh tantangan. Tapi pasti bisa kita kendalikan,” kata dia menegaskan.

However, Purbaya emphasized that he was still optimistic and believed that these challenges could be overcome well.

"Interesting (month of work), full of challenges. But we can definitely control it," he asserted.
