Aruma Remembers The Memories Recorded In The Aroma And Song Cendana
JAKARTA - After collaborating with SB 19 through MAPA and the single solo Berbunga-Bungga Sendiri, Aruma added his collection of works through Cendana. This is a warm song, but full of emotions about memories, confusion, and a smell that is timeless.
"His aspirations came from someone who had lived in my life, about one year and nine months ago," said Aruma in a written statement, October 8.
The smelled fragrance is attached to memory and is a memory that can be called when the aroma returns. Aruna interprets the story as part of her work this time.
This person has a very distinctive aroma, namely the smell of sandalswood or sandalwood. From there, I realized, it turns out that the aroma can be the strongest memory. Once smelled, feelings, moments, and people will definitely be remembered again. Therefore, from the meaning side, the title 'Cendana' is not just referring to the aroma of thewood sandals, but it becomes a symbol of memorable memories, even after the person is no longer in our life, "he explained about the title Cendana.
With feelings of turmoil, Aruma wrote this song just overnight. Even so, the development and production process takes up to a year and a half, including the workshop stage and improvement with the A&R Sony Music team.
In order for the results to match those of Gracie Abrams' admirers, Aruma dipoles 'Cendana' with producer and songwriter Petra Sihombing in Bali to produce a more mature and flowing arrangement.

"I learned a lot from Kak Petra during the work on this song. The final result became more directed, the flow, and the story was also more connected," he said.
Aruma explored many musicals in Cendana's songs. He tries to present softer and more atmospheric music.
"Still in the same area, but more subtle. You could say this is the middle point between me and me from now on," he said.
Through Cendana, Aruma wants to accompany listeners who are in a phase of uncertainty in their relationship.
"I just want to say: it's okay to feel confused, it's okay not to be able to let go. Just enjoy the process because, slowly, we will also get to the point when everything doesn't feel that heavy anymore," he said.
