Marseille Defender Neyef Aguerd Admits He Was Attacked On His Way To Morocco

JAKARTA - Marseille defender Nayef Aguerd said via social media that a man attacked him at Marseille-Provence Airport while he was waiting for a flight to Morocco to join the national team.

According to local media, a man approached Aguerd in the airport VIP room on Monday, October 6, 2025, local time, wanting to take a selfie with the player and ask for his phone number.

Aguerd said that security officers intervened after the unknown person reportedly lost his patience and tried to hit the defender.

The 29-year-old player immediately boarded his plane to Rabat as soon as the security officers secured the situation.

"I want to reassure everyone after the information that has been circulating over the past few hours."

"I was attacked at Marignane Airport while waiting for my flight to join the Morocco National Team."

Morocco, which has qualified for the 2026 World Cup, will host Bahrain in an international friendly match on Thursday, October 9, 2025, before facing Congo in the finalization match of the last 2026 World Cup on October 14, 2025 in Rabat.
