Airlangga Reveals That Bank Permata Is In The Size Of Singi Mandiri And BRI

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto revealed that Bank Permata now has a very strategic position in the national banking sector, even in terms of size, which is considered bigger than other large banks such as BRI and Mandiri.

"I asked (President Director of PT Bank Permata Tbk) Mrs. Meliza, both in terms of value and size from Bank Permata, because Bank Permata is the parent of Bangkok Bank. So of course yesterday it became very important for Mrs. Meliza's presence in Bangkok, so Bangkok Bank's commitment to Bank Permata is large," he said at the Wealth Wisdom 2025 event, Tuesday, October 7.

According to him, the presence of the President Director of Bank Permata in Bangkok recently showed the close strategic relationship between Bangkok Bank and Bank Permata, so that currently the size of Bank Permata is approaching, Bank Mandiri and Bank BRI.

"So the Bangkok Bank's commitment to Bank Permata is large and Bank Permata is sizeable compared to BRI and Mandiri, because the size is 130 billion (US dollar), Mandiri is around 150 billion (US dollar). So this is a big parent," he explained.

Airlangga added that Bangkok Bank officially entered Bank Permata in 2021, and since then, its governance has increased significantly, so this provides a sense of security for investors who put their funds there.

In addition, he said that amid the current global uncertainty, the Indonesian economy still shows resilience where national economic growth in the second quarter of 2025 reached 5.12 percent, the highest among many G20 countries.

"Thank God Indonesia is still growing solidly, yesterday in the second quarter it was still 5.12 compared to many countries and also among the G20 countries Indonesia is still positive, so of course this is a sign that in the midst of uncertainty we can still maintain it," he said.

In addition, according to him, this is also reflected in strong market confidence, with the JCI setting an all-time high.

"This also shows confidence, the reverse of international trust in Indonesia is relatively good," he said.

Dia menyampaikan dari sisi investasi, capaian pada semester pertama tahun ini sudah mencapai Rp942 triliun dan target investasi kuartal III-2025 sebesar Rp1.400 triliun telah tercapai, dan hingga akhir tahun diproyeksikan mencapai Rp1.900 triliun.

"Kenapa investasi penting? Karena salah satu komponen daripada pertumbuhan ekonomi adalah investasi dan investasi juga terkait langsung dengan lapangan pekerjaan," ucapnya.

He conveyed that in terms of investment, the achievement in the first half of this year has reached Rp942 trillion and the investment target for the third quarter of 2025 of Rp1,400 trillion has been achieved, and by the end of the year it is projected to reach Rp1,900 trillion.

"Why is investment important? Because one component of economic growth is investment and investment is also directly related to employment," he said.
