BGN Reveals Corruption Mode In MBG Kitchen, Spends Bad Quality Food Materials

JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is open about corruption that occurs in the kitchen of the organizers of the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program or the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG). One of them is buying raw materials with poor quality.

Deputy for Systems and Governance of BGN Tigor Pangaribuan said the funds disbursed by the government amounted to Rp10 billion for one SPPG unit were very prone to being embezzled.

Tigor said that one of the cases found was a collusion between the foundation and the head of the SPPG to buy raw materials with poor quality. This mode, he said, could pocket an additional IDR 20 million per month.

For your information, currently there are 10,681 SPPG units that have been operating. This means that there are around 10,861 Indonesian development-propelled scholars (SPPI) who are trusted as the head of the SPPG. Also, 10,681 nutritionists and also 10,681 accountants.

The Head of SPPG is generally 26 to 27 years old. Their job is to manage funds disbursed by the center of up to IDR 10 billion.

"There are those (SPPI) who are tempted too. Tempted by the foundation, 'Come on, buy bad raw goods, I'll give you the difference'. They already have expectations if they can get Rp. 20 million every additional month. Well, we said it was tempted. Why? He will sacrifice the quality of food ingredients," he said at the Food Zone event, in Jakarta, Tuesday, October 7.

Furthermore, Tigor said that his party had also taken firm steps in the form of dismissal of the head of the SPPG who was proven to have carried out collusion practices that led to corruption. But unfortunately, Tigor said where the case occurred.

"We have fired someone. Yes, sorry too. But even young people must understand that they must maintain their integrity from the start," he said.

In addition, Tigor said that there were also SPPI reports in their performance that often did not comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs), namely monitoring the cooking process for raw materials.

They work if our standards are from morning to morning again. It's hard to work if he has to follow. So you have to set the time. He first arranges for work in the morning, at night he has to stay nearby. Most of the night he doesn't come to see the cooking process. Well, we give a warning," he said.

Not only that, said Tigor, there were also problematic SPPG financial reports. Therefore, BGN implements a strict monitoring system through virtual account (VA) numbers.

Two issues that we really take care of, corruption and poisoning. We thank the corruption with VA. That's one kitchen given only one ATM. This ATM can be taken by two people. We actually put an anchor so that it doesn't corruption. Actually, it's Rp. 10 billion per kitchen," he said.
