Nadeo Argawinata's Good Performance Becomes Patrick Kluiver's Language Amid Absennya Emil Audero
JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team coach, Patrick Kluivert, discussed Nadeo Argawinata's slick performance with his club, Borneo FC.
This has caught the attention of Kluivert after another Garuda goalkeeper, Emil Audero, was confirmed absent from defending the team in the Fourth Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.
It is known that Emil Audero missed the Garuda Squad after being injured. The incident occurred in the match against Como in the fifth week of Serie A 2025/2026 at the end of last month.
Due to Emil's situation, the name Nadeo Argawinata, who was previously absent from the squad, was called up to fill the Red-White Team goalkeeper slot which is now filled by Maarten Paes, Ernando Ari, and Reza Arya who were also called up to follow.

"Yes, Emil (Audero) is absent. Maarten (Paes) of course will join. However, Nadeo (Argawinata) who performed very well at Borneo FC, too. They are in first place in this competition."
"So, it's a good competition for Maarten and for Nadeo. That's what we want," Kluiver said in a video released by PSSI, quoted on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
Regarding Nadeo's performance discussed by Kluivert, the goalkeeper did manage to show his ability to help Borneo FC top the 2025/2026 Super League standings with a perfect record.
Of the six matches that have been undertaken, Pesut Etam always wins with a collection of 18 points, six points ahead of the second-ranked team, PSIM Yogyakarta.
So far, Nadeo has also had 24 appearances for the Garuda Squad. However, his last appearance occurred two years ago, when Indonesia lost 1-5 against Iraq in the opening match of the 2026 World Cup Qualification Second Round.
According to Kluivert, Emil's absence was a crushing blow because from his point of view, he kept the goal very well with Cremonese. However, the presence of Nadeo and Reza still maintains the quality of the current goalkeeper.
"We want there to be a competition so that the goal position can be controlled as well as possible, as well as the players on the field," said the Dutch coach.
In the Fourth Round of 2026 World Cup Qualification, the Indonesian national team will face Saudi Arabia on Thursday, October 10, 2025, at 00.15 WIB. Three days later, they will face Iraq on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 02.30 WIB at King Abdullah Sport City Stadium, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
