Collapse Of Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School Kills 67 Santri, MPR Chair Asks Police To Sidik For Learning
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly Ahmad Muzani, expressed his deep sorrow for the death of 67 students in the collapsed building at the Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School, Sidoarjo, East Java.
"What happened at the Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School in Sidoarjo, I think it was an incident that was very worrying about us all. It was a very heartbreaking incident that took so many victims," Muzani told reporters in Central Jakarta, Tuesday, October 7.
"Of course we are concerned and sorry for the incident," continued the Gerindra politician.
Muzani hopes that the incident of the collapse of a four-story building at Ponpes Al Khoziny can be a lesson for all education managers. "Both religious and non-religious, that construction-standard buildings are also very important for the safety of students, students, students," he said.

Muzani also asked the Indonesian Police to thoroughly investigate the incident of the collapse of the Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School building, so that this tragedy does not happen again.

As reported, the evacuation and search for victims of the collapse of the three-story building of the Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes), Buduran District, Sidoarjo, East Java, was officially declared complete, Tuesday, October 7.
The joint SAR team consisting of Basarnas, TNI, Polri, BPBD, and volunteers has evacuated all victims from the rubble.
The total number of victims affected by the collapsed building during the Asr prayer in congregation, Monday, September 29, was 171 people.
Of the hundreds of people affected, 104 survived and 67 died, including eight identified body parts.
