The Ministry Of Public Works Ensures The Utilization Of People's School Facilities In Cimahi
BANDUNG The People's School Program, the result of collaboration between the Ministry of Public Works (PU) and the Ministry of Social Affairs, began to show its positive impact on improving the quality of education in West Java.
A number of educational facilities that have been renovated have now been operational, including the First Middle People's School (SRMP) 9 Bandung City and SRMP 8 Cimahi.
PU Minister Dody Hanggodo emphasized that the construction of public schools is clear evidence of the government's commitment to improving the quality of human resources through access to decent and equitable education.
"The development of this people's school is a tangible form of the government's commitment to building superior human resources. Collaborating with the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Public Works wants to ensure that this educational facility is built quickly and with quality so that it can be immediately used in the 2025/2026 school year," said Minister Dody.
Furthermore, Minister Dody emphasized that people's schools not only present physical buildings, but also provide growing space for students to feel comfortable and safe.
This school is not only a physical building, but also a second home for students. We want to make sure every facility is completely feasible, safe, and comfortable so that the learning process can run well," he added.
The Principal of SRMP 8 Cimahi, Mohammad Ikhsan Ramadhan, expressed his appreciation for the support provided by the government, especially the Ministry of Public Works.
According to him, the existence of adequate facilities has made the teaching and learning process run smoothly since the beginning of the new school year.
"Since the construction of facilities by the Ministry of Public Works, we at SRMP 8 Cimahi, have been able to start learning from July 14 at the same time as other schools in Indonesia. Thank God, thanks to the hard work of everyone, the people's schools initiated by Mr. Prabowo to eradicate and break the chain of poverty can run well," said Ikhsan.

At SRMP 8 Cimahi, as many as 97 students are now studying with a full dormitory system.
Students have a formal learning experience in class, followed by a drama program in the form of togetherness, worship, and character formation activities.
"The facilities that have been built by the Ministry of Public Works, in SRMP 8 Cimahi, Alhamdulillah, there are 4 classrooms, 1 IPA laboratory, 1 computer laboratory, 1 language laboratory, 4 dormitories, teacher room, and school principal room. Everything can be used properly so that learning runs properly," added Ikhsan.
