10,681 MBG Kitchen Units Already Operated, Head Of BGN: All Built Without State Budget Funds
JAKARTA - Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana revealed that a total of 10,681 kitchen units of the Free Nutrition Eating (MBG) program or the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) have been operating to date.
Dadan explained that the construction of the SPPG was entirely the result of cooperation with private partners, without using funds from the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN).
"I think currently 100 percent of the 10,681 are contributions from partners and not a single SPPG has been built through APBN funds," he said at the Food Zone event, in Jakarta, Tuesday, October 7.
Dadan said BGN targets the construction of 25,441 SPPGs in agglomeration areas and 6,000 SPPGs in remote areas. This program not only expands access to nutritious food, but also has a significant economic impact at the local level.
Furthermore, Dadan said that every participating partner invests a minimum of IDR 2 billion for the construction of one SPPG unit.

"On the one hand, those who become partners will also get quite attractive incentives, but on the other hand, the Nutrition Agency benefits from the presence of partners and this is driving a fairly large economy in society," said Dadan.
Dadan said that the collaboration between the government and the private sector, in this case, partners, is the key to the success of the free nutritious eating program.
"I would like to thank those who have a SPPG and have a positive contribution to Free Nutrition Food," he said.
