Complete, 29 Indonesian National Team Players Have Joined Saudi Arabia

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team squad is now complete to undergo preparations for the 2026 World Cup Qualification Fourth Round. A total of 29 players have gathered in Saudi Arabia to hunt for tickets for the 2026 World Cup against the hosts and Iraq.

The latest news about the condition of the Indonesian national team was conveyed by the Indonesian national team manager, Sumardji. He said that currently all players are in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

"A total of 29 players already exist (joining Saudi Arabia), yes, they (Calvin Verdonk, Dean James, and Kevin Diks) too," Sumardji said in a statement quoted on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

Calvin Verdok, Dean James, and Kevin Diks are among the three most recent names to join the team. You see, they previously had to defend their respective clubs until Sunday, October 5, 2025.

Of the three names, Kevin Diks and Dean James still played first in the final match before the international break. Meanwhile, Verdok was not included in the Lille squad in the duel against PSG, but were still present to watch the match live.

The Indonesian national team will start the battle for tickets for the 2026 World Cup finals against Saudi Arabia and Iraq on 9 and 12 October WIB.

If they succeed in gaining victory over Saudi Arabia and Iraq, the Indonesian national team will certainly qualify directly for the 2026 World Cup. If ending the fourth round with runner-up status, the Garuda Squad will continue the struggle longer by navigating the Fifth Round.
