The SAR Team Successfully Evacuated The Body Of A Woman Who Was Attacked By A Crocodile In The Lasolo Konut River

The Joint SAR Team evacuated the body of a woman who was attacked by a crocodile in the Lasolo River, Wanggudu Village, Asera District, North Konawe Regency (Konut), Southeast Sulawesi Province (Sultra).

Head of Basarnas Kendari Amiruddin said the body of a woman known as Nurliana Al Maulu (54), was first reported missing after being attacked by a crocodile, on Monday at around 19.05 WITA.

"When we received the report, we immediately dispatched the Kendari Basarnas rescue team to the location to provide SAR assistance," Ammiruddin said when contacted in Kendari, Antara, Tuesday, November 7.

He said that when he arrived at the location in question, the team immediately coordinated with other elements to conduct a sweep around the location where the victim was attacked by a crocodile.

Amiruddin revealed that on the second day of the search, the Joint SAR Team managed to find the victim, on Tuesday (7/10) at around 07.32 WITA.

"The victim was found dead, who was then evacuated to the funeral home and handed over to the family," he said.

Amiruddin explained that with the discovery of the victim, the SAR operation was in a dangerous condition for one person who was attacked by a crocodile in the Lasolo River, declared complete and closed.

"All elements involved in the search are returned to their respective units," explained Amiruddin.

Amiruddin added that the chronology of the incident occurred when the victim had just returned from the garden. While on the way, the victim stopped by the riverbank to clean himself, soon a crocodile immediately pounced and pulled him into the river water.

"At that time the victim immediately disappeared, and the people who saw the incident tried to provide help, but to no avail," added Amiruddin.
