No Playing! LPKA Ambon Check All Employee Phones For The Sake Of Basmi Judi Online

AMBON - The Ambon Class II Children's Special Development Institute (LPKA) conducted a surprise inspection of employees' cellphones as a decisive step to combat online gambling practices in the work environment.

The head of the Class II LPKA Ambon, Kurniawan Wawondos, said that this activity was a follow-up to the letter from the Head of the Maluku Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Number WP.28.UM.01.01-1459 regarding the ban on online gambling for all correctional officers, as well as the letter from the Directorate General of Corrections Number PAS-UM.01.01-391.

"The examination was carried out on all employee cellphones, including the search history and digital transactions. As a result, there were no indications of employee involvement in online gambling activities," said Kurniawan in Ambon, Antara, Tuesday, October 7.

He emphasized that this activity is a form of institutional commitment in maintaining the integrity and professionalism of officers.

"We will not tolerate any form of violation that can tarnish the good name of the institution. Online gambling is a social illness that must be eradicated, including in our own work environment," he stressed.

According to him, the implementation of mobile phone inspections is important to maintain public integrity and trust in correctional institutions. As a state apparatus tasked with fostering inmates, officers are required to be role models in obeying the law and ethics.

"The examination of mobile phones is a preventive step to ensure there are no violations, while at the same time strengthening the discipline and morals of the work of the apparatus," he said.

In addition, the policy is in line with the government's national program in eradicating online gambling, as well as preventing disturbances in security and order within the institution.

"The officer's action on the officer's cellphone is a form of real commitment in creating a clean, integrity and professional work environment," he added.

He ensured that similar inspections would be carried out regularly as part of disciplinary prevention and development measures.

"We will continue to carry out strict supervision, not only limited to checking cellphones, but also monitoring lifestyles and moral development. The goal is that no officers fall into illegal practices," said Kurniawan.
