Charli XCX Gives New Album Code, Producer Opens Voice
JAKARTA - After the success of the album 'Brat', Charli XCX is now teasing fans again with his new music project. Strong clues came from his collaborator, who called his upcoming work something completely different and fresh.
Charli XCX, known for its transformational capabilities, recently shared footage from its recording studio as if ending a total "Brat" era which has been declared completed several times.
The era of 'Brat' which was released last year quickly became a cultural phenomenon, even the concept of 'Brat Summer' had penetrated Kamala Harris' presidential campaign.
Recently, the 33-year-old soloist uploaded a short five-second clip on X's social media. The audio of the clip features a string arrangement resembling a horror soundtrack, which builds tension towards a sharp climax before it suddenly stops.
While it is not yet clear whether the footage is part of a new album, the post comes shortly after Finn Keane, one of the producers working on the 'Brat', provided the latest news about Charli's new album process.
"We are currently pretty deep into it, and I think it's going to be really amazing... It feels really different and fresh right now," Keane told Music News, quoted by NME, Tuesday, October 7.

From the start, Charli XCX had indeed signaled that the direction of the music would turn sharp, even though he was already prepared if the album was not as successful as the 'Brat'.
"You'll never be able to do the same thing twice and my next recording may be a flop, where I agree," Charli said in May.
This isn't the first time a leak about a new album has been leaked. Previously, in February, the producers included AG Cook, Finn Keane, and her husband George Daniel "required that a new work was being formed into anti-Brat.
Charli XCX himself admits the difficulty of releasing the 'Brat' which has become an inseparable part of him. "It's very difficult to let go of the 'Brat', and let go of things that are very attached to me, and be my whole life," he said.
