384 Children And Teachers Of Poisoning, TTS NTT Regency Government Temporarily Stops MBG Distribution

SOE - The Government of South Central Timor Regency (TTS), East Nusa Tenggara Province has temporarily suspended the distribution of food prepared by the Soe City Kitchen Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) after 384 children and teachers were suspected of being poisoned with Free Nutrition Food (MBG).

"I have ordered that the SPPG be closed while we are waiting for the results of the food lab test eaten by the children and teachers provided by the kitchen," said South Central Timor Regent Eduard Markus Lioe from Soe City, Antara, Tuesday, October 7.

He said this was in response to the poisoning of a number of children and teachers in the area on October 3, which prompted everyone to protest with the MBG policy in the area.

He said the closing of the Soe City Kitchen SPPG was carried out until an indefinite time limit. And according to him, improvements will be made to the SPPG.

MBG food from the kitchen has been sent samples to the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) for examination of samples.

"But until now there has been no report on the results. We are still waiting," he said.

As a result of the incident, he said many children and even the parents of the victims of MBG poisoning were traumatized, some of whom were furious and did not want the incident to happen again.

"Many children were traumatized by the incident," he said.

Eduard also said that he would fix the problem, so that it would not happen again by coordinating with related parties.

Earlier on October 3 last week, a number of students were rushed to the nearest hospital in Soe City. Not long after, the number increased to hundreds.

Not only that, several teachers who received MBG were also reported to be victims after consuming the MBG.
