EV2 Ready To Debut Early 2026, Electric Car Compact Andalan Kia For European Market
JAKARTA - Kia will hit the urban electric car market through the EV2 model, an affordable electric vehicle designed for the European market ready to become a strong challenger for Citroen eC3 to Volkswagen Polo.
Citing from the KoreanCarBlog website, Tuesday, October 7, Kia President and CEO Song Ho-Sung confirmed to Auto Express that EV2 will be fully revealed early next year, which is expected to debut at the Brussels Motor Show in January.
While no official date has yet been set, the timing is in line with Kia's strategy to expand its EV reach in Europe, positioning EV2 as a key player in the affordable urban EV market.
Unlike the larger Kia electric SUV, Kia EV2 is designed from the bottom up for European roads and lifestyles. Ho-Sung describes EV2 as a new entry point for the Kia vehicle lineup, which targets urban drivers who want practicality, technology, and style in compact packages.

Design And Style Kia EV2
Kia EV2's concept of making its first appearance during the EV Day Kia in Spain earlier this year, gave a clear view of the brand's new small EV direction.
"A lot you will see in the final production car (concept)," said Executive Vice President Kia and Head of Global Design Karim Habib.
The main highlight of this car design is the dashing profile. From the front view, this car comes with a DRL light that is in line with the design language Kia Opposites United.
Wider rear light is mounted on the back door to emphasize the attitude of the car. Welcoming insertions and bumpers inspired by SUVs for urban displays.
Entering the cabin, the Kia EV2 interior is expected to provide impressive space and flexibility for its class. Because, it is rumored that its interior is one of the strongest selling values.
Not sold in South Korea
Interestingly, EV2 will not be sold in Korea, as Ho-Sung explains that smaller cars have limited attraction in the Kia domestic market. Instead, EV2 will be built at the Kia plant in Slovakia starting in 2026, taking over the production space previously used for Kia Ceed.
