ESDM Calls Tebu Factory In Merauke Can Generate 150,000-300,000 KL Etanol Per Year
JAKARTA - Director General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Emiya Listiani Dewi revealed that the sugarcane processing plant into bioethenol in Merauke can produce 150,000 to 300,000 kiloliters (KL) ethanol per year.
"I heard that there are 300,000, 150,000 to KL, ethanol per year," said Eniya when met in Jakarta, Monday, October 6.
According to him, until now the construction of this factory is still in the land acquisition stage. Eniya also admitted that he did not know which company would develop this project.
"I don't know. I don't know. The meeting just discussed the land. Yes, it doesn't even exist at all," he explained.
On the other hand, the government is also preparing electrical resources and clean energy to supply the factory's needs.
For example, if you want to build a factory or what, you have to think about the energy. Is the PLN cable withdrawn? Or create from hydro? " said Eniya.
Previously, Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Yuliot Tanjung projected that the bioethenol factory made from sugarcane raw materials located in Merauke, South Papua could start production in 2027.
According to Yuliot, the focus of the current government is to accelerate the implementation of the project to meet the needs of bioethenol in the country.
"This week we are still focusing on preparing a bioethenol factory for domestic needs. For bioethenol, there will be an acceleration of development, especially in Merauke, South Papua," Yuliot told the media crew at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Office, Friday, August 8.
