Minister Of Transportation Dudy Checks Bangka Belitung Transportation, Asks For Safety To Be A Priority

Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi emphasized that safety must be a top priority in every transportation service in the Bangka Belitung Islands.

This message was conveyed by Dudy while reviewing various land and sea transportation facilities in the Bangka Belitung Islands, Monday, October 6.

The review was carried out at the Class III Land Transportation Management Center (BPTD) Bangka Belitung, which manages a number of intermodal services such as crossing and road transportation in the Tanjung Kelayang tourism strategic area.

Currently, there are two active crossing routes, namely Sadai Tanjung Gading and Tanjung Ru Tanjung Real, as well as seven active road transportation routes such as Pangkal Pinang Koba, Pangkal Pinang Sebagin, and Tanjung Pandan 'Manggar.

In addition to the land transportation sector, Minister of Transportation Dudy also visited the Class IV Pangkalbalam Harbormaster Office and Port Authority (KSOP), which oversees three working areas: Belinyu, Sungai Lik, and the Selan River.

Belinyu Port serves the Sea Toll Vessels Trayek R7 and Sabuk Nusantara 48, while the Lihat River and Selan Rivers function as local and regional feeder ports, respectively.

"We have to pay close attention to safety. We don't want it to be like the previous incident. I ask for ramp checks to continue. Then we are not here alone, in carrying out every activity we must be able to coordinate with other parties so that they can be supported," he said in an official statement, Monday, October 6.

Dudy said, in addition to increasing connectivity between regions, the Ministry of Transportation also wants to ensure that every transportation service in Bangka Belitung runs according to the principles of sustainable development.

In Bangka Belitung, Dudy also accompanied President Prabowo Subianto in the activity of the Report on the Achievement of the Forest Area Control Task Force (PKH) to the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the Submission of State Looted Goods Assets to PT Timah Tbk.

"The Ministry of Transportation supports the development of the tin industry in Pangkal Pinang as long as it is in accordance with applicable regulations and regulations. We want to ensure that industrial growth in the regions, including the tin industry, is in line with the principles of sustainable development and national interests," said Dudy.
