1 TNI Soldier Dies During Preparation For 80th Anniversary, Kostrad Commander: His Body Delivered To Southeast Aceh

JAKARTA - Commander of the Army Strategic Reserve Command (Pangkostrad) Lieutenant General Mohammad Fadjar confirmed that one of his soldiers died in an accident during preparations for the TNI's 80th Anniversary celebration in Jakarta on Saturday, October 4.

"The body was delivered to Southeast Aceh last night and was buried militarily today," said Fadjar when confirmed in Jakarta, Monday, in Antara.

Fadjar explained that the soldier who died was on behalf of First Private Johari Alfarizi.

Pangkostrad melanjutkan bahwa Johari saat itu sedang berada di atas tank yang dibawa kendaraan transporter. Tank itu akan dipindahkan untuk keperluan acara puncak HUT TNI yang digelar di area Monument Nasional (Monas), Jakarta, Minggu 5 Oktober.

During the process of moving the tanks, Johari fell from the top of the tank in the vicinity of the Monas area. Johari fell from a height of about 4 meters and suffered injuries to several parts of the body and fractures.

Johari was taken to the hospital for medical treatment, but died on his way to the hospital.

Fadjar also expressed his condolences on behalf of himself and also the unit for the death of Pratu Johari.

"Compensation has been given, from the TNI Commander, Kostrad Commander, and unit commander," he added.

Fadjar added that the services and dedication of the late Johari will always be remembered and be buried properly through the military procession.
