JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Dave Akbarshah Fikarno or Dave Laksono supports President Prabowo Subianto's statement in the 80th Anniversary of the TNI which asks the TNI to change the organization in his outdated body. The head of state also asked that the TNI leadership be filled by the best soldiers, not just seniority.

According to Dave, TNI updates are needed in line with technological developments and geopolitical challenges. So that modern and adaptive TNI is needed.

"We understand that the current challenges of geopolitical and threat dynamics require the TNI to be adaptive, responsive, and modern. Therefore, updates to organizational structures that are considered irrelevant to the operational needs of today do need to be carried out in stages and measurably," said Dave to reporters, Monday, October 6.

"And while maintaining constructive internal stability and traditions," he added.

Dave said the House of Representatives Commission I also encouraged that TNI's body reform be not only structural, but also touched on aspects of the doctrine, education, and career development system. In addition, according to him, transparency in the promotion process also needs to be done.

"Increasing the capacity of human resources, as well as integration of defense technology is also a focus that we consider crucial," said the head of the defense commission.

"The TNI is a strategic institution that must continue to be strengthened, not only in terms of defense equipment, but also in terms of leadership and governance," concluded Dave.
