Amid The Decline Of The Motor Industry, Royal Enfield Sets The Highest Sales Record In History

JAKARTA - In the midst of sluggish global motorcycle markets with many other brands instead reporting flat or down sales, Royal Enfield even recorded positive achievements throughout September 2025, even recording outstanding achievements with the highest global sales in history, reaching 124,328 motorcycles.

Based on a report from Rideapart, quoted on Monday, October 6, the figure obtained by RE rose 43 percent compared to last year's 86,978 YoY units, which means demand is getting higher for various motorcycle units.

If in more detail, in India Royal Enfield's own sales contributed 113,573 of the sale, compared to 79,325 in September 2024. Even exports rose sharply, with 10,755 bicycles shipped overseas compared to 7,653 years earlier.

Royal Enfield CEO B. Govindarajan, said this positive sales figure was extraordinary and pointed to the newly updated 350 Meteor as a hit with the community.

"It's about Royal Enfield today, not just one motorcycle that brings interest, but also many models such as Bullet, Classic, Meteor, Hunter, Himalayan, and 650 twins all pull their own loads around the world. Such balanced portfolios are rare, and they pay off in a big way," he said.

Big sales in India are also driven by the latest tax structure that makes smaller motorcycles more affordable and bigger ones more expensive.

For Royal Enfield, it means that the 350 cc lineup is subject to a tax of only 18 percent, not 28 percent. This is certainly easier to have a motorbike according to the user's characteristics in that segment. Thus, sales can be boosted from the above influence.
