National Funeral, Wife Of The 4th Vice President Of The Republic Of Indonesia Karlinah Umar Wirahadikusumah Passes Away

JAKARTA Sad news came from the extended family of the late Vice President of the 4th Republic of Indonesia, Umar Wirahadikusumah. His wife, Karlinah Umar Wirahadikusumah bint Djajaatmaja, died on Monday, October 6, at 04.33 WIB at Gatot Subroto Army Hospital, Jakarta.

Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rojiun. Has passed away to the grace of our mother, Mrs. Karlinah Umar Wirahadikusumah bint Djajaatmaja. God willing, Husnul Khotimah," said the statement from the family received by the editor, Monday morning.

The body of the deceased was buried at the residence of Jalan Teuku Umar No. 61, Menteng, Central Jakarta. The plan is for the funeral to be held at the Kalibata National Heroes Cemetery (TMPN), Jakarta.

The deceased was known as a simple figure who faithfully accompanied the late Umar Wirahadikusumah during his service to the nation and state. During his lifetime, Karlinah was active in various social and religious activities, and was known to have high concern for the community.

Umar Wirahadikusumah is the 4th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia who served in the 1983'1988 period accompanying President Suharto. Born in Bandung on October 10, 1924, Umar is known as a high-ranking TNI officer who has integrity and firmness. He served as Pangdam V/Jaya and Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) before being trusted to be vice president.

Karlinah's departure is a deep loss for the extended family and the people who know the figure of the Umar and Karlinah Wirahadikusumah couple, two figures who are known to be religious, modest, and highly dedicated to the nation.

Umar Wirahadikusumah's extended family asked for prayers so that the deceased would be forgiven for all sins and get the best place in the sight of Allah SWT.
