Indonesian Women's Doubles, Janice Tjen/Aldia Sutjiadi Print History Of WTA 125 Champion At Shzou Open 2025

JAKARTA - Indonesian Women's Doubles, Janice Tjen/Aldila Sutjiadi won the title at Shozou Open 2025. This victory made history because both of them won in WTA 125.

Janice/Aldila confirmed the title after defeating the Polish/Japan pair, Katarzyna Kawa/Mokoto Ninomiya. In the final which took place on Sunday, October 5 in Shozou, China, Janice/Aldila won in two sets with a score of 6-4, 6-3.

Facing Kawa/Ninomiya is not easy for Aldila, he said that the opponent this time was quite tough. Moreover, they also stepped into the top party with a positive trend after defeating the top seed in the semifinals.

"They are quite good, and I know both of them, and of course they have also played on the WTA tour a lot," Aldila was quoted as saying by Antara, Sunday, October 5.

Aldila / Janice, who became the fourth seed in this tournament, appeared strong with their services. In the match which lasted one hour 14 minutes, they managed to record the first service point of 72.2 percent.

In the first set, Janice/Aldila took a 5-4 lead to end Kawa/Ninomiya's resistance with a score of 6-4 in 39 minutes. In the second set, Janice/Aldila took the lead 4-1, 5-3, and closed the second set with a score of 6-3.

Aldila arrived in Suzhou after aground in the first round of the WTA 1000 China Open in Beijing, Saturday, September 27, 2025. He and Irina Khromacheva were unable to repel second seed Sara Errani/Jasmine Paolini.

He then departed from Beijing for Suzhou Sunday, September 28. The 30-year-old then took the decision to have a duet with Janice in Suzhou after considering the scheduled tennis tour.

Meanwhile, Janice, who also competed in the WTA 125 Suzhou singles sector, managed to qualify for the main round after going through two matches in the qualifying round with a straight set victory. However, the 23-year-old had to be stopped in the first half after losing to Varvara Lepchenko.

At the beginning of the year, Aldila and Janice were paired up to take part in the ITF W35 Arcade in California, USA. The Indonesian women's doubles, the bronze winner of the Hangzhou 2023 Asian Games, was runner-up in a warm-up event for Aldila before heading to Indian Wells and Miami Open.

ITF W35 Arcade was the first tournament in 2025 for Aldila after suffering from sudden or deaf hearing loss at the end of last year which ruled her out of the season's start-up tournament, including Grand Slam.
