Amazing! US Prepares Donald Trump's $1 Coin For 250 Years Of Independence
JAKARTA - The United States (US) Department of Finance is considering issuing a special edition $1 coin with a picture of Donald Trump to commemorate the 250th anniversary of US independence which falls in 2026.
The initial draft, which was released on October 3, 2025, features a portrait of President Donald Trump on the one side of the coin, accompanied by the words Liberty, In God, and 1776 2026.
The other side features Trump with his fist raised beside the American flag, as well as his famous slogan "Fight, fight, fight" the words he said after surviving a assassination attempt in 2024 in Butler, Pennsylvania.
US Treasury Secretary Brandon Beach shared the coin's initial design through platform X (formerly Twitter) with a message. This is not fake news. Sketsa to celebrate America's 250th anniversary and respect for President Trump is real.
Beach added that further details would be announced after the closure of some federal government ends.
The position of the United States Treasurer has a responsibility to oversee federal government assets as well as the issuance of banknotes and coins. Brandon Beach itself was a former Georgia state legislator before being appointed federal treasurer on March 23, 2025.
According to a Politico report, during his first term of office, Donald Trump has signed a law allowing the Treasury Department to issue a $1 warning coin to mark the celebration of the 250th anniversary of US independence.
The legal basis for the issuance is contained in the 2020 Collection Coin Redesign Act, which gives the US Treasury the authority to issue a national icon image coin starting January 2026 under the supervision of the Minister of Finance.
However, an ABC News report states that some of the current regulations prohibit the use of images of the president still serving on official coins. However, it is not yet clear whether the rules also apply to national warning coins.
