West Pasaman Gets Ministry Of Agriculture Assistance To Support Food Self-Sufficiency
SIMPANG FOUR - The West Pasaman Regency Government, West Sumatra received a number of rice seed assistance, corn to optimize land from the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture in an effort to support the food security program in the area.
"We received a number of assistance from the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture through the 2025 State and Expenditure Budget (APBN)," said Acting Head of the West Pasaman Horticulture Food Crops Service Afdal at Simpang Empat, West Pasaman, Saturday.

He said the assistance obtained was in the form of a food plant production facility in the form of corn seeds for 11 sub-districts, seed assistance and dry land rice pesticides for seven sub-districts and rice rice seed assistance in the form of non-rawal land optimization activities (Oplah) in five sub-districts.
"The corn seeds were obtained as much as 22,500 kilograms for 1,500 hectares of land, 12,500 kilograms of rice fields for 500 hectares and 52,840 kilograms of rice seeds on 1,321 hectares of land," he said.
Then the assistance of nutritious food yards (P2B) in order to support the free nutritious eating activity of how many P2B vegetable commodities in the three parent villages in Pasaman District in 15 farmer women's groups (KWT), P2B comoditi sweet potatoes in three parent villages in three KWTs in Pasaman District.
Acting Head of the West Horticulture Food Crops Service Afdal added assistance in the form of non-rawal land optimization activities (oplah) in the form of irrigation network assistance in five sub-districts as many as 18 farmer groups with 500 hectares of land and optimization land processing assistance in 5 sub-districts for 500 hectares of land in 18 poktan.
"This land optimization activity has started as an effort to increase rice production," he said.
His party also received donations and agricultural machinery (alsintan) in prepanent and alsintan after harvest in the form of 32 electric hands sprayers, four water pumps, two two-wheeled tractors, one four-wheeled tractor, a large combine plant plant (CHB) and one unit of rice harvesting machines.
"The work units at the central and regional levels help distribute aid to beneficiaries or farmer groups," he said.
