60 Students In Jakarta Poisoned MBG

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Health Office noted that 60 students from 10 locations in Jakarta experienced free Nutrition Food (MBG) poisoning but did not require medical equipment.

"The incident occurred, if there were 10 locations in Jakarta, but actually the affected students, who needed not too many medical equipment. There were around 60 from all locations," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Health Office, Ani Ruspitawati when met in the Ancol area, North Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, October 4.

However, he did not specify which locations the MBG poisoning cases were found in Jakarta. Based on laboratory results, most of the causes of food poisoning are bacteria.

"In accordance with what the Minister of Health said yesterday, most of the causes are bacteria," he said.

As for Jakarta, one of the cases of MBG poisoning occurred at SDN 01 Gedong, Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta. A total of 20 students there were suspected of being poisoned with symptoms of nausea, dizziness and vomiting.

On a different occasion, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Food, Maritime and Agriculture Security Service found that there was a Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) that did not carry out the distribution standard operating procedure (SOP) so that the MBG menu resulted in poisoning.

In fact, according to the Head of the DKI Jakarta Food, Maritime and Agricultural Security Service (DKPKP) Hasudungan Sidabalok, the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has provided SOPs.

"Actually, if the SOP already exists from BGN, it's clear. But when we did the monitoring, it turned out that the SOP was not implemented properly," said Hasudungan at City Hall, Friday (3/10).

Hasudungan said that the DKI Jakarta KPKP Office conducted laboratory examinations twice a week in two locations for each city in Jakarta.
