Open Art Jakarta 2025, Menbud Fadli Encourages Indonesia's Art Ecosystem Relevant On The Global Stage
JAKARTA - Minister of Culture (Menbud) of the Republic of Indonesia, Fadli Zon, said that the largest performing arts exhibition in Indonesia 'Art Jakarta 2025' can build an art ecosystem that is increasingly relevant on the global stage.
This was conveyed by Fadli considering that Art Jakarta 2025 presents 75 galleries from 16 countries and 33 collective artists so that they can become a meeting center for artists, collectors, curators, and creative industry players.
Art Jakarta 2025 is a common ground for art and professional culture actors. We want to build an Indonesian art ecosystem to grow, both at the national and global levels," said Minister ofbud Fadli when opening Art Jakarta 2025 on Friday, October 3 in a written statement.
Fadli emphasized that the Ministry of Culture supports providing broad space for Indonesian artists to appear in international forums, including plans to participate in Venice Biennale next year.
This year, Art Jakarta also presents the National Talent Management (MTN) Market program with the theme Rising Current curasi Agung Hujatnika. This program opens up opportunities for young Indonesian artists to be directly connected to the world's art industry.
Fadli emphasized the importance of cultural and creative industry (CCI) as a sustainable engine of global economic growth. "CCI will become an engine for growth. Art of appearance is not only an expression of culture, but also instruments of diplomacy and national competitiveness," he said.
The Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, added that Art Jakarta is now a barometer of contemporary Southeast Asian art. "In a way, it is able to strengthen the nation's identity and open an international collaboration network," he said.

The opening of Art Jakarta was enlivened by Padjadjaran University Choir and marked by the signing of a symbolic canvas by Minister Fadli with honorary guests. Also present were state officials, industry players, to cultural figures.
Fadli closed with the affirmation that Art Jakarta 2025 is not just an annual agenda, but an important momentum to show the world how the Indonesian arts ecosystem grows, lives, and is ready to compete on the global stage.
