Honda New Investment In Motorcycle Factory In Brazil, Will Increase Production Capacity
JAKARTA - Moto Honda da Amazonia Ltda (HDA) as a company engaged in the production and sale of motorcycles and powered products in Brazil, announced a new investment of 1.6 billion real (equivalent to IDR 4.9 trillion) for four years, from 2026 to 2029.
This step was taken to meet the growing demand in Brazil's motorcycle market. In the country Honda has given birth to many motorbikes to fill this growing market.
HDA President Arata Ichinose, said Honda believes in Brazil's potential and continues its commitment to sustainable development for local communities. For nearly 50 years of production in Manaus, Amazonas, companies have gained deep trust from Brazilian society by providing high-quality products and supporting their daily mobility.
"This new investment reaffirms Honda's firm belief in Brazil, its business partners, and the domestic market. We will continue to place customers as our business center, prioritize sustainable growth, job creation, and meet the needs and expectations of Brazilian consumers as our efforts to further strengthen our operations," he said, quoted from his official website, Friday, October 3.

Please note, the HDA plant in Manaus began operating in 1976, and is currently producing 19 models ranging from 110cc to 1100cc with an annual production capacity of 1.4 million units.
In addition to Brazilian markets, HDA also exports its products to 17 countries, including the United States, Australia, and Mexico, with total production exceeding 31 million units to date.
In recent years, Brazilian motorcycle markets have grown rapidly, driven not only by rising demand for private transportation but also by rising commercial needs such as shipping services.
To meet sustainable demand growth, HDA will implement several initiatives from 2026 to 2029, including the expansion of production line capacity through the introduction of new equipment, optimizing production processes by modifying line layouts, and increasing factory internal logistics.
This will build a framework to respond to market changes, increase demand, and expand product lines in the future more quickly and flexibly. By 2026, production capacity is projected to increase to 1.6 million units, creating around 350 new jobs.
