Curhat Warga Kapuk Raya Made Uncomfortable With The Condition Of The Semrawut Air Cable

JAKARTA - The chaotic utility cable on Jalan Kapuk Raya, North Jakarta is troubling local residents and road users because in addition to disturbing beauty, it also has the potential to be dangerous for motorcyclists and other vehicles.

At 15.30 WIB, Friday, October 3, the cables appeared to cross over the road and were overtaken by each other, precisely at the intersection bridge from the Kapuk Village office to Jalan Livestock.

In addition to chaoticity, a number of cables hang out and are intertwining on the side of the road. Some residents even took the initiative to tidy up the wrapped cables so as not to endanger road users.

A street vendor in the vicinity of the location named Sarinah (40) said the chaotic cable had caught fire some time ago.

Sarinah also admitted that she regularly tidys up the chaotic cables with local residents, so as not to endanger road users.

"Yes. The problem is that everything is a mess. So, we tie it to the bridges so as not to disturb people passing by and not to be dangerous," said Sarinah.

However, the motorcyclist, who happened to be on the bridge, was once wrapped in a cable that stretched to the road.

"Sometimes there are officers who tidy up, but never finish. It should be reported," said Sarinah.

He also said that the cables often circled towards rivers on the side of the road.

"If PPSU (handling public infrastructure and facilities) sometimes tidys up above the river. If the cable touches the water, then the garbage can be held back. PPSU cleans it. They use a small boat down (down the river)," said Sarinah.

Meanwhile, North Jakarta Head of Bina Marga Sub-dept., Hananto, said that his officers had been dispatched to inspect the location.

"It will be checked in the field and will be coordinated with the relevant agencies," said Hananto via text message.
