400 Joint Personnel Handling Ambruk Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School Building Killed 9 People
JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) revealed that more than 400 joint personnel worked day and night 24 hours in the search for victims of the collapse of the Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) building, Buduran, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java.
Head of BNPB Suharyanto said the SAR operation was carried out in an alternating system, involving the use of victim detection technology to heavy equipment for the evacuation of bodies.
"More than 400 personnel from the joint SAR team worked day and night for 24 hours," said Suharyanto in a voice recording of a press conference received in Jakarta, Friday, confiscated by Antara.
In front of dozens of reporters at the emergency media center tent, he explained that the field team used various special equipment, ranging from search cam flexible Olympus, Xaver 400 wall scanners, to multi search leaders.
Along with the results of the last assessment that no longer shows signs of life, he said, the search is now focusing on evacuating bodies.
BNPB also mobilized logistical support and equipment, including 200 body bags, 250 sets of personal protective equipment, as well as heavy equipment in the form of cranes, excavators cleaners, dump trucks, and ambulances.

According to him, the operational budget for heavy equipment is prepared to support searches for a week. In addition, BNPB has distributed operational incentives for joint SAR personnel so that the mission runs optimally.
"We continue to maximize the search, every development of the results of the operation will be delivered three times a day," said Suharyanto.
Based on temporary data as of Friday, October 3 at 11.45 WIB, the number of affected victims reached 166 people. Of that number, 111 people have been found, with details of 14 people still being treated, 89 people coming home, and nine people dying.
The injured victims were treated at a number of health facilities, including RT Notopuro Sidoarjo Hospital, Siti Hajar Hospital, Delta Surya Hospital, Sheila Medika Hospital, Unair Hospital, dr. Mohamad Soewandhie Surabaya, and Sakinah Mojokerto Hospital.
