Gaza Flotilla Ship Crashes In Cyprus

JAKARTA - Ships from the aid fleet carrying aid to Gaza, Global Sumud Flotilla and intercepted by Israel have docked in Cyprus.

The ship carrying 21 foreign nationals asked to dock at Larnaca for refueling and humanitarian reasons, a government spokesman in X said on Friday, October 3.

The Cypriot government did not identify the boat or say whether the boat was among the boats stopped by the Israeli military.

After registering all passengers, Cyprus provided their basic needs and offered consular assistance, he added.

Israel faced international condemnation and protests on Thursday after being on the fleet and detaining more than 450 activists from Italy, Spain, and other countries, including Swedish activist Greta Thunberg. Israel says activists will be deported.

Italy said on Thursday activists were likely to be sent to the European capital on charter flights on Monday and Tuesday. Four Italian lawmakers were released and scheduled to fly to Rome on this day
