Deli River Subscription Flood, DPRD Medan: Lurah, And Camat Like Less Agile
JAKARTA - The Regional Parliament of Medan, North Sumatra, stated that the medan municipal government apparatus ranging from the head of the environment to the relevant regional device organization (OPD) must be quick to handle flood disasters, especially on the banks of the Deli River.
"Flooding in deli river has become a subscription of residents. But the apparatus of both the head of the environment, lurah, camat and OPD, such as less agile and responsive," said a member of the Dprd Medan Syaiful Ramadhan in Medan, reported antara, Monday, May 17.
The MCC politicians considered the concern of the local government apparatus was still low even though it should be able to compensate for the move of Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution to provide maximum service to local residents.
Moreover, continued members of commission IV, flood shipments from upstream resulted in hundreds of houses on the banks of the Deli River submerged, such as Medan Johor, Medan Polonia, and Medan Maimun last week.
"We appreciate the visit made by the Mayor of Medan directly to the settlements of residents affected by the flood on Eid al-Fitr on Thursday, May 13, and Saturday, May 15, early morning," he said.
It proposes that the disaster relief budget allocated in the Medan City Budget changes this year, especially for residents affected by flooding either shipments or due to heavy rains.
"Allocating disaster relief budget in each village for the community is expected to be a solution in the future, so that the apparatus can be free," explained Syaiful who is a member of the MCC Faction.
