Bahlil Explains The Tricks Of Fuel Hoarders: Double Tank Modification
JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia revealed a number of modes of subsidized fuel hoarding that still occur.
Bahlil said that the hoarding perpetrators modified their vehicles by installing double tanks so that they could fill up more subsidized fuel up to 1 ton.
'The creative ones are elements. Imagine if the hardtop car was made with a double tank, only 200 liters of 300 liters, sometimes it could be 1 ton there," Bahlil said as quoted on Friday, October 3.
This then caused subsidized fuel to be not on target because it was used by irresponsible individuals. Moreover, he said, subsudidy fuel is not intended for consumers from the industry. However, in practice in the field, this hoarding practice is often carried out so that industry players can use it.
"The fuel should not be industrial, but what happened in part at the gas station was that they carried the car track, the car, the tank was put in doubles there and then filled at the gas station," explained Bahlil.
Just so you know, recently the Police secured as much as nine tons of subsidized diesel fuel (BBM) suspected of being illegal to be sent to Mimika Barat Tengah District, Central Papua, to support unofficial or illegal gold mining activities.
"From the public reports we received, the illegal fuel will be used for illegal gold mining activities in the Central West Mimika District area," said Mimika Police Chief AKBP Billyandha Hilde Budiman in Timika, Tuesday, confiscated by Antara.
Meanwhile, on August 22, the police confiscated four minibus vehicles indicated carrying out the practice of subsidizing fuel oil (BBM) at a number of Public Fuel Filling Stations (SPBU) in Muara Bungo Regency, Jambi.

The four gas stations in question are in the Mengkuang River, Pasir Putih and Cadika areas, Central Rimbo District, and Sungai Binjai gas stations, Bathin III District.
Bungo Police Chief AKBP Natalena Eko Cahyono emphasized that the misuse of subsidized fuel is not only detrimental to the state, but also hinders people who are entitled to receive fuel according to their designation.
