Police Examine 17 Witnesses In UNG Student Death Case After Diksar Mapala

BONE - The case of Muhammad Jeksen's death, a third semester student in the Department of History, the Faculty of Social Sciences, Gorontalo State University (UNG), after attending basic education (diksar) Mapala, still leaves a question mark.

The family urged the police to thoroughly investigate the cause of Jeksen's death. They believe the victim died due to physical contact during the cadre activity.

The Bone Bolango Police Chief, AKBP Supriantoro, revealed that his party had examined 17 witnesses related to this case. Of these, 11 people are the organizing committee for the division, while the other six are participants in the activity.

"The development to this day, the Bone Bolango Police have examined 17 witnesses. The committee is 11 people and six participants. Some of the committee are alumni," said AKBP Supriantoro.

Although the results of the post-mortem of the victim have been released, the police are still reluctant to reveal it on the grounds that it is used as material for investigations and case titles. So far, not a single suspect has been named.

"For the results of the post-mortem, it has been released, but it is still the consumption of investigators in the context of the case title. There has been no determination of the suspect, because there are still many parties who will be questioned," added Supriantoro.

It is known that Muhammad Jeksen attended the Mapala diksar for 4 days, on September 14-18, 2025 in the Central Suwawa District, Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo.

After the activity, the victim was rushed to the hospital because he had swelling in his face and neck. However, his life could not be saved and he died on Monday (22/9/2025).

Jeksen's body was buried by his family in his hometown in Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, on Wednesday (24/9/2025).
