Inter Milan Vs Cremonese: Get Rid Of Barrier Kericil At San Siro

JAKARTA - Inter Milan and Cremonese who surprisingly have the same points in the Serie A standings will face each other at the San Siro on Saturday night, October 4. This meeting feels unique, because usually the two Lombardy clubs are at very different poles. However, Cremonese's shaky and fast adaptation of Inter in the highest caste made this match even more interesting.

Inter had slipped when they lost to Udinese, then fell in Derby d'Italia, but they managed to bounce back with a straight winning record. After beating Ajax 2-0 in the Champions League, Cristian Chivu's team managed to beat Sassuolo and Cagliari.

In the middle of last week, the Nerazzurri again showed their dominance in Europe with a convincing victory over Slavia Prague. Lautaro Martinez scored two goals, plus one Denzel Dumfries goal, while extending Inter's unbeaten record at home in the Champions League to 17 matches.

Now, their focus is on returning to Serie A to keep their distance from title competitors such as Napoli, Juventus, and AC Milan. Victory over Cremonese will be fifth in a row before the international break.

Inter are definitely bigger than Cremonese, but they still have to be careful. Since the 2000s, the two teams have met twice, namely in the 2022-23 season, and Inter have always won with Martinez recording his name on the scoreboard.

But Cremonese this season really came as a surprise. With nine points from five games, they sit in seventh place, only losing on goal difference to Inter. Last week, they held Como 1-1 with a tough defender Federico Baschirotto, extending his unbeaten record in Serie A this season.

Davide Nicola managed to form a solid team, with a win over AC Milan at the San Siro and Sassuolo, plus three consecutive draws. Despite being knocked out of the Coppa Italia on penalties against Palermo, Cremonese's performance was clear above expectations at the start of the season.

Inter were hit when Marcus Thuram picked up a thigh injury against Slavia Prague. The French striker was confirmed absent this weekend, and could even miss international matches. Instead, Cristian Chivu may have installed Francesco Pio ESPosito or Ange Bonny to accompany Lautaro Martinez on the front lines.

The Inter captain himself is in sharp condition, with two goals in the Champions League and three goals from his previous two meetings against Cremonese. In midfield, rotation is possible. Davide Frattesi and Andy Diouf were given the opportunity to appear from the start to keep the team in good shape.

In the Cremonese camp, former Inter goalkeeper Emil Audero, is still absent with Michele Collocolo and Faris Moumbagna. Marco Silvestri is again trusted to guard the goal. Jamie Vardy, who has started to recover from injury, could also be an option for his first starter in Serie A, but Nicola still seems more inclined to the duo of Franco Vazquez and Antonio Sanabria, with Federico Bonazzoli as an alternative.

Cremonese appeared much more solid than the original assumption, even having humiliated AC Milan at the San Siro. However, facing Inter who is building a winning momentum and having Lautaro Martinez in his best form is clearly a different challenge.

Inter must not lose points against the promotion team if they want to keep competing in the winning path. With high motivation and the quality of the squad, the Nerazzurri are predicted to be able to stop the unbeaten trend of Cremonese this season.
