BEV And EREV Version Of Ford Bronco Iconist SUV Starts Selling In China, Take A Peek At The Specifications

JAKARTA Long before the F-150 Raptor arrived, Ford Bronco had already become an offroad icon of the pride of the Blue Oval. Born in the 60s, Bronco was designed as a versatile alternative to the 4x4 popular ones at the time, such as the Jeep CJ. Along the way, this formidable SUV evolved into a full-size model, giving birth to a tiny variant of Bronco II, until it finally stopped producing in 1996 when the market began to be controlled by four-door SUVs of various sizes.

Interestingly, in 2021 Ford will again present Bronco with the promise of a toughness equivalent to F-150 and a passionate soul in the style of a Mustang.

Now, Ford is continuing its steps by introducing the latest China-made Bronco to debut on this year's Chengdu Auto Show, as well as just opening an official order.

According to a Carnewschina report, Friday, October 3, consumers can simply pay 1,000 yuan or around Rp. 2.3 million to ensure the off-road-style SUV bookings.

Ford Bronco will be offered in two options, namely pure electricity (BEV) and Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) versions. The plan, the official launch will be held at the end of 2025. So what are the specifications?

In terms of design, the new Bronco maintains an iconic family style. The front features a "BRONCO" logo that turns on, integrated with the headlights to create light bars. The engine hood is equipped with functional airways that increase aerodynamics and range.

Judging from the profile, Bronco features a slightly higher floating roof and wheel arch design. The back is equipped with a spare tire attached to the outside.

In dimension, the EREV version has a length of 5,025 mm, a width of 1,960 mm, a height of 1,825 mm with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm. Meanwhile, the pure electric version has a similar dimension.

This vehicle is equipped with a LiDAR system mounted on the roof and more than 30 sensors and high-precision cameras. Bronco also offers an "Off-road Logbook" feature with more than 20 classic routes curated carefully by Ford, which allows users to plan trips through vehicle infotainment systems.

For power, the pure electric Bronco will be equipped with a double motorbike, while the remote version combines a 1.5T turbocharged engine with a double electric motor. The pure electric model is equipped with a 105.4 kWh battery which offers a range of 650 km, while the long-range version is equipped with a 43.7 kWh battery with a pure electric range of 220 km and a combined range of 1,220 km.
