DPR Regrets That The Regional Government Has Not Been Involved In The MBG Program
JAKARTA - Member of Commission II of the DPR Muhammad Khozin, proposed a scheme for assistance in the involvement of local governments (Pemda) in the implementation of the Free Nutrition Food Program (MBG). Because according to him, the involvement of the local government can help implement MBG to be more optimal.
"The involvement of the local government in the MBG program must be with the spirit of regional autonomy. The scheme is most likely to be carried out through assistance tasks," said Khozin to reporters, Friday, October 3.
Khozin said that the assistance task scheme from the local government could be in the form of an assignment from the central government. So that later, the local government will be given the authority to carry out part of the central authority.
According to Khozin, through this scheme, responsibility and funding remain attached to the central government. Meanwhile, local governments are actively involved in organizing the MBG program.
"Devisions regarding auxiliary duties are regulated in Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government and Government Regulation Number 19 of 2022 concerning Deconcentration and Assistance Tasks," he said.
"Both the involvement of local government officials and in organizing activities in the field," added Khozin.
Khozin explained, this model emphasizes the collaborative aspect between the central government and local governments. Both at the provincial and city/district levels.
"So the point is that the involvement of the local government in MBG has a legal umbrella based on the spirit of decentralization," explained the member of the DPR commission in charge of domestic government affairs.

The PKB legislator from the East Java IV electoral district also regretted that a scheme like this had not been used since the beginning of the MBG was carried out. Khozin also gave an example of the vaccination program, which is a central program, in practice, assisted by the implementation by the regional government.
"Immediately make a working formula so that MBG is successful in the field, there will be no more problems with poisoning in its implementation. And, the local government is expected to be the backbone for the success of this MBG," concluded Khozin.
