Toyota Recalls Nearly 400 Thousand Vehicles In The US, Here's The Problem

Toyota must recall or recall more than 400 thousand units of its vehicles in the United States (US) involving the popular Tacoma model, Tundra to Sequoia.

Based on a report from Carscoops, quoted on Friday, October 3, according to a Japanese auto giant report, the software issue was the culprit of this recall. This causes the image of the rear view camera not to be properly displayed.

The last two models are the subject of the biggest recall, which has ensnared 394,000 pickup trucks and SUVs from the 2023 to 2025 model years.

So the problem can be seen when a vehicle is moved back and forth, the 14-inch infotainment system may display a half, full green, or black green green screen. This violates federal safety standards and increases the risk of accidents as they retreat and crash into people or vehicles.

Because this is a programming problem, the solution is quite easy because the dealer technician will update the software. It sounds quite easy, and the notification is scheduled to be sent later next month.

Meanwhile, for the recall involving Tacoma as many as 6,000 four-wheeled driven units because it has a damaged front driving axis building.

Toyota did not specify, but revealed that the components used on the front driving axis connection may not be produced with the right material, and may change shape or break while driving. This can affect control and allow vehicles to move, even when parking.

The owners will be notified in November and they will have to bring the affected model to the dealer network. If you experience problems with the components, they will be immediately replaced for free.
