Rain Almost Evenly Today! BMKG Says Dozens Of Areas Are Ready To Be Showered

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that a number of areas in Indonesia will experience rain with varying intensity on Friday, October 3 from light rain to rain accompanied by lightning.

BMKG forecaster Ranti Kurniati said light rain has the potential to occur in Medan, North Sumatra; Pekanbaru, Riau; Tanjung Pinang, Riau Islands; Jambi; Bengkulu; Palembang, South Sumatra; and Pangkal Pinang, Bangka Belitung Islands.

"Then, light rain also has the potential to flush Bandar Lampung, Lampung; Jakarta; Serang, Banten; Bandung, West Java; Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara; Tanjung Selor, North Kalimantan; Pontianak, West Kalimantan; Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan; Samarinda, East Kalimantan," Ranti was quoted as saying by ANTARA.

Next, other areas that are also predicted to receive light rain are Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan; Mamuju, West Sulawesi; Palu, Central Sulawesi; Gorontalo; Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi; and Ternate, North Maluku; Ambon, Maluku; Sorong, Southwest Papua; Jayapura, Papua; Jayawijaya, Papua Mountains; and Merauke, South Papua.

"Meanwhile, rain with moderate intensity is forecast in Nabire, Central Papua," said Ranti.

BMKG also reminded of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning in several areas, such as Padang, West Sumatra; and Manado, North Sulawesi.

The thick cloudy conditions are predicted in Banda Aceh, Aceh; Semarang, Central Java; Yogyakarta, Special Region of Yogyakarta; Surabaya, East Java; Denpasar, Bali; and Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. Meanwhile, cloudy weather has the potential to occur in Makassar, South Sulawesi.

For eastern Indonesia, the air escape is predicted to occur in Manokwari, West Papua.
