No Mercy! MBG Partners Violating Rules Can Be Revoked Permits

JAKARTA - The free nutritious food program (MBG) initiated by the government as one of the flagship programs cannot be separated from the challenges and potential problems in its implementation.

Strict supervision and clear application of rules are needed so that program goals are maintained.

The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) as the manager affirms its commitment to ensure that every partner and foundation that manages complys with applicable regulations, without tolerance for practices that deviate from official guidelines.

Strict Sanctions For Violator Partners

To prevent the recurrence of violations, BGN has prepared a tiered sanction scheme according to the partner's level of error. These sanctions include:

As a preventive measure, BGN will tighten the selection process from the start. Document verification and business legality will be tightened so that only partners with good reputation and positive track records can join the MBG program.

BGN will also conduct more in-depth background checks on potential partners. Aspects that are considered include business history, operational capacity, and compliance with applicable food and nutritional safety standards.

In an effort to strengthen supervision, BGN will cooperate with the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) and an independent audit agency. Routine inspections will be carried out regularly to ensure transparency and accountability in program management.

Financial supervision is also strengthened through the use of joint accounts and the implementation of an at cost-based cost system. This step is expected to be able to prevent misuse of funds while increasing public trust in the MBG program.

BGN emphasized that a thorough evaluation of the MBG partnership system will continue. Improvement of governance is an important strategy so that similar cases do not happen again.

The government also ensures that every kitchen partner has a full commitment to supporting the success of the program, starting from fulfilling nutritional standards to reporting the use of funds in a transparent manner.
