KLH Recognized, PGN's Operational Benefits For The Community And The Environment
JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) ensures the presence of natural gas infrastructure provides benefits to the community and is friendly to environmental sustainability. This also received recognition from KLH through the title of the Golden to Green PROPER at PGN Group.

PGN embraces the community and partners through targeted programs, so that the relationship between PGN and the surrounding community is increasingly harmonious," said PGN Corporate Secretary Fajriyah Usman, Thursday, October 2.
One of PGN's flagship programs that will receive the Golden PROPER is Pesona Tani Dewa (Sustainable, Optimal, and Adaptive Farmers of Pagardewa), which was developed in Pagardewa Village, Muara Enim, South Sumatra. The program is a solution to the low income of rubber farmers, declining plantation productivity and the threat of land fires.
Through this initiative, PGN supports the development of Lake Kemiri ecotourism which helps increase the income of the local community. PGN also provides community facilities to hone business skills through bee farming, fish, watermelon, and chili businesses, so that farmers' economic resources can be more varied.
Not only that, PGN encourages rubber replanting, utilization of organic fertilizers, and mitigation of forest fires through the Alert Farmers program. As a result, rubber plantations in Pagardewa are able to absorb up to 4.56 tons of carbon per hectare per year, which strengthens PGN's commitment to supporting decarbonization.
Fajriyah emphasized that PGN Group will continue to increase innovation in environmental management.

PGN's subsidiary, PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) is also flooded with PROPER achievements. Pertagas Operation West Java Area (OWJA) and Operation Kalimantan Area (OKA) managed to maintain the Gold PROPER since 2023. Then in 2024, Pertagas added one gold PROPER award through Operation South Sumatra Area (OSSA) and maintained the good performance of one Green PROPER through Operation East Java Area (OJA).
Pertagas focuses on developing community empowerment programs to realize food self-sufficiency, environmental sustainability and economic strengthening of the community around operational areas. Pertagas embraced 27 community groups with 32,672 people through the Perkasa Bumiku program in West Java which was carried by OWJA, Permata Borneo in East Kalimantan by OKA, Pusaka Tirta in South Sumatra by OSSA and Symphoni Kidung Tanggulangin in East Java by OJA.
