The Risk Of Breast Cancer Is Lower In Women Who Have Breastfeeded, Really?
JAKARTA - Women who have been breastfeeding are said to have a lower risk of developing breast cancer than those who do not have this experience.
This was conveyed by the Head of the MRCC Radiology Department, dr. Nina ISH Supit, Sp.Rad PRP (K). Although the risk is lower, it does not rule out the possibility of women who have breastfeeding for breast cancer.
"But that doesn't mean it won't hit (the breast cancer), but he has a chance. So the term is less than those who don't breastfeed or don't get married," said Doctor Nina, in Jakarta, quoted on Thursday, October 2, 2025.
Doctor Nina said the medical literature also states that women who are not married or not breastfeeding do have a higher chance of developing breast cancer. This is due to the influence of hormonal factors.

"All disorders in the breast are influenced by hormonality," he added.
However, Doctor Nina still reminds women to carry out early detection of their own breasts regularly. This is because all women are actually at risk, even though the level of probability of occurrence is different.
Women are advised to do early screening so that treatment is faster and the cure rate is high. The early detection of breast cancer that can be done is with SADARI or Self Breast Check.
"Don't wait for symptoms. Early examination is very important, because the sooner it is found, the greater the chance of recovering," concluded Doctor Nina.
