Education In The Digital Age, Are Teachers Still Learning Centers?
JAKARTA - The role of teachers so far has always been placed as a center in the teaching and learning process. However, the presence of digital technology and artificial intelligence began to change the map of education.
Students can now access unlimited information only via devices, learn to be independent from videos, applications, or even search engines in seconds.
In the midst of this change, a big question arises, is the teacher still relevant as a learning center, or does his role shift to a facilitator that guides students to sort out information and use it wisely?
This question is in the main spotlight of the Redea Institute in the 15th International Conference with the theme "Regasing Education in the Digital Age", presenting global education experts to find answers to the challenges of the future of teaching and learning world.
The Redea Institute, which has been around for 29 years, believes that students' success cannot be separated from the quality of teachers. Since 1996, they have consistently developed professional training and development programs for teachers, administrators, and school staff so that teaching is more relevant to the times.
This year's conference highlights important issues such as the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in classrooms, digital equality, data-based learning, personal learning models, to the importance of ethical leadership in the midst of digital transformation.
"As an institution that focuses on research and development for progress, we uphold a commitment to always provide the best for children,"
"In realizing this mission, we continue to collaborate with well-known international education experts," said Antarina SF Amir, founder and CEO of the Redea Institute in the opening speech.

One of the main speakers to attend is Dr. John T. Almarode, author of a number of popular educational books such as Teacher Clarity and How Learning Works: A Playbook. He emphasized that although technology is growing rapidly, the essence of teachers is still irreplaceable.
"As educators, we must recognize that our students and co-workers are now facing a very different environment than we have experienced," said Almarode.
No matter how good AI's generating technology develops, it's just a tool, not an answer. From the Covid-19 pandemic, we learned one important thing, namely the role of teachers cannot be replaced. Technology may change, but great teachers will always survive, "he added
In addition to presenting international experts such as Kenneth Shelton (Apple Distinguished Educator) and Bryan totaling (CEO McREL International), this conference also features a Learning Heroes session filled with teachers from the Redea Institute network school.
They will share teaching experiences, innovative learning strategies, to real challenges faced in class through cross-disciplinary collaborative approaches.
