Yoshimi Ogawa Says Super League Referee Performance Is Still Not In Accordance With Expectations
JAKARTA - The chairman of the Referee Committee, Yoshimi Ogawa, assessed that the referee's performance in the Super League so far has not met expectations. In fact, the 2025/2026 season competition has been rolling until the seventh week.
He said this because based on the assessment carried out, the percentage of the referee's right decision only touched 86 percent. This number is clearly still far below expectations, which is 95 percent.
"Last season in League 1 (Super League), we found there was 89 percent of the right decision, 11 percent of it was not right. If you may remember, this is actually not up to our expectations. Our expectations reached 95, 96, or 97 percent."

"That's why we still have to improve this. This season, the same is true for the Super League, the percentage is almost the same, 89 percent," Yoshimi Ogawa said in a statement quoted on Thursday, October 2, 2025.
Although according to him, the referee's leadership in the Super League still does not meet expectations, there is good news from the leadership of the Champion referee (League 2).
"In the Championship, the statistics are slightly better. However, I believe in the Super League, the percentage of the right decision will increase, I believe it will reach 90, 91, 92, or 93 percent."
"Therefore, we are trying to educate and develop referees," said the Japanese man.
From the results of its evaluation to the Super League in the seventh week, video assistant referee (VAR) must have the courage to intervene in the main referee who leads the match, if there is an inappropriate decision.
